Terms & Conditions — One Less Chore
1. Definitions
“The Company” means One Less Chore, operated by Ashley Pantry (Sole Trader). “The Client” means the person booking services. “Service” means any cleaning service booked through this website.
2. Consumer Contracts — 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, Clients booking services online have a 14-day cooling-off period during which they may cancel for a full refund. However, because cleaning services are often scheduled within this 14-day window, the Client may request the service to begin before the cooling-off period expires. By ticking the waiver checkbox at checkout, the Client explicitly acknowledges and requests that the service commences prior to the expiry of the 14-day cancellation period, thereby waiving the right to cancel once performance of the service has begun.
3. Cancellation Policy
- More than 48 hours’ notice: 100% refund of any fees paid.
- 24–48 hours’ notice: 50% of the total booking fee will be charged. Any balance already paid in excess of 50% will be refunded.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: 100% of the total booking fee will be charged. No refund will be issued.
4. Lock-Out / No-Access Policy
If our cleaner arrives at the property at the scheduled time and cannot gain access because the Client has failed to provide a key, entry code, or other means of access, this will be treated as a cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice. The Client will be charged 100% of the booking fee. It is the Client’s sole responsibility to ensure access is available at the scheduled time.
5. Scope of Services — Standard Clean
A “Standard Clean” (including Regular Weekly Resets) includes: dusting of all accessible surfaces, vacuuming of all floor areas, mopping of hard floors, cleaning of bathrooms (toilet, sink, bath/shower exterior and screens), and kitchen surfaces (worktops, sink, hob exterior, and cupboard fronts).
Not included in a Standard Clean unless booked as a separate premium add-on: internal oven cleaning, internal fridge/freezer cleaning, deep grout scrubbing, mould removal, heavy lifting or moving of furniture, cleaning of biohazards, exterior window cleaning, and any task requiring specialist equipment or chemicals beyond standard domestic cleaning supplies.
6. Service Add-Ons
The following services are available as separate bookings or add-ons: Intensive Deep Cleans, End of Tenancy Turnarounds, and Oven / Appliance Deep Cleaning. Full descriptions of each service are available on the Book Now page.
7. Public Liability Insurance
The Company holds Public Liability Insurance. Details of current coverage are available on request.
8. Data Protection
The Company processes personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
